Microneedling with the Dermaroller
Proper needling with the dermaroller
Microneedling with a dermaroller is becoming increasingly popular. And not only at a beautician's, but also at home: You will learn below which positive effects, such as firm skin and fine pores, you can achieve with a dermaroller for your skin, how to use the dermaroller correctly, and what you should pay attention to.
WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
A dermaroller is a small roller for the skin, equipped with many small needles that are only between 1.5 and 2.5 millimeters long and made of surgical steel. The length of the needles varies depending on the body area and the desired effect. Dermarollers with shorter needles are suitable for the face, as the facial skin is significantly thinner than the skin of the body. The Dermaroller from DOCTOR MI! has a needle length of 2.5 mm. It consists of easily cleanable stainless steel needles and features an ergonomic handle for comfortable use.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MICRONEEDLING?
When using a dermaroller, tiny injuries are caused in the top layer of the skin by the fine needles. This results in the cells being stimulated, the blood circulation of the tissue being increased, and thus the skin regeneration being activated. The cells release growth factors and elastin, which not only heals the skin but also significantly improves the skin's appearance through the formation of new skin cells.
WHO IS MICRONEEDLING SUITABLE FOR?
Basically, microneedling can be an effective method to reduce scars and wrinkles and to diminish other unwanted skin textures. In the case of raised scars, inflamed skin, acne, rosacea, or sunburn, this treatment should be avoided due to the increased risk of inflammation, or used only after consultation.
HOW DO I USE THE DERMA ROLLER CORRECTLY?
Particularly important when using a dermaroller is the correct and hygienic application. Before starting the treatment, hands must be washed and the skin deeply cleansed. Otherwise, unsightly inflammations can occur. Divide the face into three sections: forehead, cheeks, and chin. Then gently roll the dermaroller over each facial area without applying pressure. You should make sure to treat in a star-shaped pattern. This means you first roll the dermaroller vertically, then horizontally, and finally diagonally over the skin. As with the preparation, it is very important to rinse the dermaroller under hot water after the treatment and let it dry thoroughly.
WHY SHOULD I COMBINE MICRONEEDLING WITH SKINCARE PRODUCTS?
Due to the fine injuries to the skin, care products such as high-quality serums or oils can penetrate particularly deeply into the skin layers and support the skin's regeneration process, enhancing the positive effects of microneedling.
Tip: Perform the treatment in the evening to give your skin enough time to regenerate.
- Disinfect the DERMAROLLER and clean the area of skin to be treated with CLEAN.
- Optionally apply TONE or TONE.S before use.
- Apply a suitable, functional care such as RED, SUPER RED, SERUM, DAY, NIGHT to your skin.
- Move the DERMAROLLER in every direction: 4-5 times vertically, horizontally, and diagonally in the area to be treated, while maintaining the same speed and pressure.
- If necessary, massage excess product residue into the skin with your fingertips.
FROM WHEN CAN I EXPECT VISIBLE RESULTS?
Patience is the key to success here. Results can be expected from the third use of the dermaroller. However, collagen regeneration takes two to three months, but the patience is worth it: the pores become visibly finer, the skin firmer and plumper. The only important thing is a regular, properly performed treatment with this beauty product.
